Welcome to the West Oakland Chapter of the American Sewing Guild. Our chapter includes Oakland, Washtenaw, Livingston, and Genesee counties in Southeast Michigan. We meet in different neighborhood groups—different locations, different times, different sewing interests—but always new projects, techniques, and a shared passion for sewing.
Whether you have been sewing for a lifetime or are just learning, our Neighborhood Groups will welcome you! Join one group, two, or join them all—and participate in learning, friendship, and fun!
Neighborhood Groups are like a modern-day "sewing bee"
and they are the heart of both our local chapter and the
national ASG. Neighborhood Groups are formed around either a geographic
location or a special sewing interest—or both! There's sure to be one that's just right for you! But, as an ASG member, you can attend as many meetings as you'd like!
Most meetings include a special project or technique and always make time for "Sew
and Tell" so members can share what they've been working on. It's a great way to get some tips, learn a new technique, find a new pattern, or just admire the talent of your sister
members!
We currently have 4 active Neighborhood Groups. Visit our Neighborhood Groups page to see what's going on this month and attend a meeting—or 4!
